The home was built by myself and my wife Donna (Hey, she learned how to handle a skilsaw very well) and also a construction crew that I used to work with.  It is at the end of a mile long private road and there is NO traffic going by the home. The house is of high quality construction - I had many years as a general contractor and woodcraft designer/builder. The wood beveled, drop lap siding is of cultured redwood. The stonework is at a minimum of 8 inches thick, in many places it is 12-16 inches thick - reinforced with rebar steel and duramesh steel lath. The stud walls are 6 inch studs with 6 inches of insulation, covered with 1 inch of foil wrapped urethane and then stone on the outside. This makes for a very energy efficient structure.
